A person pays with a card through Stripe. The seller's deliverable is relayed and the sale settles with a signed receipt.

A prepaid balance or a saved card. Repeat buyers and agents settle inline — no redirect, no checkout page.

Machine-native payment over HTTP 402. An agent calls the listing, pays per query and gets the answer back in the same exchange.

Engine Architecture

We support a relay delivery path with separately retained transaction records. Any asset — data, services, investments, digital goods — is relayed live through a stateless broker. On the relay path the payload is not persisted; other delivery paths may store payloads (see retention policy). Every transaction produces a cryptographic Ed25519 receipt. Free to list. 5% on $20–$49,999.99 sales.

In plain English: payload handling depends on the selected delivery path — it passes straight from seller to buyer, and both sides get a digitally signed receipt that can be checked against the published verification key (Ed25519 is the signature scheme; x402 is how agents pay per request over the API).
